Miles Davis was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He is considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, known for his seminal contributions to the genre of jazz, including the development of cool jazz, hard bop, and fusion.

He recorded and released a number of influential albums, including Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain, and Bitches Brew, which are considered among the greatest jazz albums of all time. Davis is known for his innovative approach to music, in which he often incorporates elements of other musical styles and genres, such as rock, funk, and electronica.

Throughout his career, he has worked with many famous musicians including John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, and Herbie Hancock. Despite many personal and health challenges, Davis continued to perform and record until his death in 1991.

He remains one of the most iconic and important figures in jazz history.
